Remove Password from Password Protected Excel Sheet Without any Software

Sometimes the template sheets or downloaded sheets are password protected and you can't find any password to edit sheets. For this, here is easy and simple trick to remove password from any protected sheet in seconds without using any other software. 

Step 01: Click on file name in your folder and at top of folder go to view option and check the File Name Extensions

Step 02: Change file extension from .xlsx or .xlsm to .zip

Step 03: Open file now it has zip extension it will open in winrar software as shown in figure. Goto xl => worksheets => sheet 1. In worksheet folder all worksheets available in workbook will appear you have to extract the sheet which is password protected. Here, sheet1.xml is password protected so I extract sheet1.xml for editing.

Step 04: Edit sheet1.xml through notepad and remove following part from sheet1.xml and save file.

Step 05: After saving sheet1.xml copy again to same zip file and replace old sheet1.xml

Step 06: Remove the extension .zip and write again .xlsx or .xlsm (original file extension) and open workbook now you will see password will be no longer available and you can edit sheet.
